2022 Acura RDX Preview

Since 2006, the RDX has been the best-selling vehicle in the premium compact SUV segment due to its marked combination of a high level of driving dynamics and reliability at a sensible price. For 2022 the RDX has received light styling updates both inside and out as well as a retuned suspension to improve both the ride and handling characteristics. Furthermore, the cabin now has an active sound control system to become much quieter, making long trips more comfortable.

Other changes for 2022 include standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, lane change assist, and a blind spot information system as part of the AcuraWatch suite of driver-assistance technology features. A new feature called IconicDrive, part of the Technology Package, brings 27 different interior lighting schemes with some of them inspired by driving destinations around the world. Customers who opt for the sport-oriented A-Spec version get a flat-bottom steering wheel while there is also an updated Integrated Dynamics System with 4 more distinctive modes (Normal, Comfort, Sport and Snow).

2022 also brings a new available version of the RDX, the PMC Edition, which will be offered exclusively in a color called Long Beach Blue Pearl. The PMC Edition is handmade by Acura’s most-skilled technicians alongside the NSX supercar at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio and production of this version is limited to 200 vehicles. All RDXs come with a turbocharged 272-horsepower 4-cylinder engine with all-wheel-drive optional on all trims except those with Advance package and the PMC Edition. As the premium compact SUV market becomes ever so competitive, the changes to the RDX may make it an even more enticing option to today’s SUV shoppers.
