Quick Take: 2022 Infiniti QX60

With a complete redesign for 2022, the 7-passenger QX60 is an important vehicle for Infiniti as the previous generation QX60 was very popular for families that wanted to travel comfortably. As the premium midsize SUV market is very competitive, the QX60 stands out with an expressive design on the outside and plenty of room to move about on the inside. During the Motor Press Guild Drive Day event last week, the Cartrast team spent some time with the updated QX60, and we could only be awed by the amount of conveniences that a family-oriented vehicle can have.

The QX60 we drove was the midrange Sensory version that brought 20-inch alloy wheels, a 17-speaker Bose sound system, and massaging front seats. Other features included a panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats, heated outboard 2nd-row seats, the InTouch infotainment system with a 12.3-inch screen, navigation, wireless phone charging, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor, handy when parking in tight spaces. Every trim of the QX60 comes with a 295-horsepower V-6 paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission. All of these features added up to a deluxe experience behind the wheel and we were pleased by the high amount of comfort that the QX60 delivered.

All in all, the QX60 caters very well to the needs of families (and with the massaging front seats, particularly parents), offering plenty of room for passengers in all three rows as well as their stuff. In addition, the numerous upscale features provide a relaxing experience, likely assisted by the “Zero Gravity” seats in the front that are designed to reduce pressure on the hips as well as the ability of the second-row seats to tilt and slide forward for third-row access even when child safety seats are installed. Due to all these aforementioned characteristics, we think the QX60 will become the dedicated family vehicle for quite a few more households across America.
