2023 Hyundai Palisade Preview

A popular choice in the 3-row midsize family SUV segment, the Hyundai Palisade has been a favorite vehicle for broods all over the United States. For 2023, the Palisade has received an exterior refresh along with new infotainment and safety features. Most notable of the changes are a 12-inch infotainment screen for navigation, WiFi hotspot capability, and new BlueLink features.

The most visible changes on the outside are the front and rear bumpers, front grille, headlamps, and a multi-spoke wheel design. On the inside, there is a new instrument cluster, gauge cluster, steering wheel, new seating surfaces, and an ergo-motion driver’s seat that has been designed to make the driver more comfortable and reduce fatigue on extended trips. The third-row seats can now be heated while the Calligraphy trim gets acoustic-laminated rear door glass to make the cabin even more quiet.

On the technology front, a 12-inch navigation screen with 720p resolution is available along with a digital rearview mirror, while on the safety side, rear side-impact airbags now come standard. In addition, the 2023 Palisade gets Digital Key 2 Touch, which allows owners to leave the car key at home and use their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Samsung Galaxy smartphone to lock, unlock, or start the vehicle. Customers can add the car key to their Apple Wallet or Samsung Pass to allow sharing the Palisade with family and friends.

For added comfort, the second-row seats offer wing-out headrests and seat ventilation while large cargo can easily be accommodated with the One-Touch second-row seat and a third-row that can power-fold into the floor. USB-C outlets have also been added throughout the cabin. Families venturing off the beaten path may like the upcoming XRT trim with dark 20-inch alloy wheels and rugged-looking bumpers.

Retained characteristics cover the venerable 3.8-liter V-6 engine that makes 291 horsepower and the optional HTRAC all-wheel-drive system. Standard and available safety features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, Lane Following Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Arriving in dealerships this summer, the 2023 Palisade likely will keep the families who pick it as their next vehicle happy with their decision.
