With over 137,000 sold in America since 2014, the Macan has been a very popular choice among premium compact SUV shoppers and brings new customers to Porsche. For 2022, the company has made even more enhancements visible on the outside as well as underneath the skin (with more powerful powertrains), helping the Macan stand out even more in an ultra-competitive market.

On the outside, the 2022 Macan gets integrated cooling air intakes and front trim in body color rather than in unpainted plastic. LED headlights as well as Sport Design exterior mirrors now come standard and customers have seven new wheel designs to choose from. Under the hood, the 4-cylinder engine in the base Macan now makes 261 horsepower (an increase of 13 compared to before) while the Macan S (which also gets Porsche Active Suspension Management standard) gets a twin-turbo V-6 generating a healthy 375 horsepower.

The Macan Turbo is gone, with the top model becoming the Macan GTS, which has a twin-turbo V-6 making 434 horsepower. Other features on the GTS include Porsche Surface Coated Brakes with red calipers and adaptive air suspension with a 10 mm lower ride height along with 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in satin black as well as a tuned exhaust system. Those who want even more performance from the GTS can opt for the Sport Package which adds the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, 18-way adaptive sport seats, interior carbon fiber elements, and added Race-Tex trim in the interior.

Other features that now come standard are an analog clock on the dashboard, a 10.9 inch full-HD infotainment touchscreen with navigation, lane departure warning, and a larger storage compartment. With the added improvements, the 2022 Macan lineup has the potential to boost the compact SUV’s popularity in the market even more, making it a choice for even more shoppers in the premium market. Slated to go on sale towards the start of 2022, we think there’ll be few frowns from someone who gets behind the wheel of the updated Macan.
