Since its introduction, the Toyota Highlander has been popular with families across the United States. In hybrid form, the Highlander became even more appealing combining a relatively high level of efficiency with the ability to cart around at least 7 passengers. For 2022, Toyota wants the Highlander to stand out in the pack of family crossovers with the Bronze Edition of the Highlander, available only with the hybrid powertrain.

Priced between the Hybrid XLE and Hybrid Limited trim levels and available with front or all-wheel-drive, the Bronze Edition in two colors: Cement and Wind Chill Pearl. Bronze color accents adorn the interior and exterior, with 18-inch bronze wheels, bronze interior stitching, illuminated bronze door sills, as well as mid-century modern-inspired SofTex-trimmed seats with fabric insert and bronze stitching. In addition, there are unique floor and cargo mats embroidered with a special bronze logo.

Standard equipment includes a hands-free power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, digital rearview mirror, a 1500W power outlet, puddle lamps with the Highlander logo, in-dash ambient lighting, and a 10-way power driver’s seat. The hybrid powertrain can achieve a Toyota-estimated 36 combined miles per gallon. ToyotaCare, which covers normal factory-scheduled maintenance, for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, and 2 years of Roadside Assistance, regardless of mileage, also comes on all Bronze Edition vehicles.

The Highlander Bronze Edition should stand out in the ever-competitive 3-row family SUV segment with a departure from the chrome, silver, or black exterior accents. With its distinctive traits, the Cartrast team will be interested to see it for themselves and determine whether bronze is the new black.
