2022 Infiniti QX50 Preview

The Infiniti QX50 has long been a voguish alternative in the premium compact SUV market while offering a high amount of amenities for the money, like its dual touchscreen InTouch infotainment system which has an 8-inch upper screen, and 7-inch lower screen. For the 2022 model year, the QX50 gets even more standard equipment like ProPILOT Assist adaptive cruise control for single-lane travel, a Type-C USB charging port for the back seat passengers, and LED welcome lights on the door handles.

Customers will still have five trim levels to choose from: base Pure, midrange Luxe, well-equipped Essence, style-oriented Sensory, and the top-of-the-line Autograph. All QX50s get a 268-horsepower 4-cylinder engine with front-wheel-drive standard and all-wheel-drive optional. Opting for the Luxe trim level brings leather seats and 4-way power lumbar support for the driver while going for the Essential trim nets a 16-speaker Bose sound system and climate-controlled front seats. The even more well-equipped Sensory level adds semi-aniline leather, a motion-activated liftgate, and heated second-row seats.

Going for the top-end Autograph trim showcases the best that Infiniti has to offer in Japanese luxury with quilted-stitched seats, unique interior ambient lighting, and natural open-pore maple wood accents. With the updated QX50, premium compact SUV shoppers will definitely have a polished alternative to the usual suspects from Germany and America and will take note of the high amount of features to go with the style. Ultimately, the 2022 QX50 will likely retain the presence it has in what is a very competitive market segment.
