During the last ten years, over 1.1 million families have purchased the Honda Odyssey in the United States, being the first minivan to have a third-row seat that folds flat into the floor, a built-in vacuum cleaner, and the first in-cabin rear seat viewing system (CabinWatch). For 2021, Honda has made the Odyssey even more appealing to growing families with refreshed styling on the outside, sporting a restyled grille and front bumper, as well as some upgraded features such as more powerful LED headlights.

On the 2021 Odyssey, families will love that the second-row seats on all Odyssey trims fold nearly flat, which will help tremendously when needing to carry unanticipated cargo. In addition, a Rear Seat Reminder system is standard and will alert you if you have left any items in the rear seats such as a bag or other items. Also , the Honda Sensing system adds Low-Speed Follow, Pedestrian Emergency Braking, and Traffic Sign Recognition to the safety suite. In addition, to enhance cargo capabilities, there are grocery bag hooks on the back of the third-row seat.

There are five trim levels of the Odyssey to choose from: base LX, midrange EX, well-equipped EX-L, high-end Touring, and full-tile Elite. The Touring and Elite versions now come with 19-inch alloy wheels along with a USB charging port in the third row, enhancing their premium nature. Furthermore, the Elite gets perforated leather for the first and second-row seats with contrast stitching and piping on all three rows, a design feature normally reserved for luxury marques. EX-L and higher trim levels get updated floor mats and a front-passenger seat with lumbar support.

All Odysseys come with a V-6 engine generating 280 horsepower while getting EPA fuel economy ratings of 19/28/22 miles per gallon (city/highway/combined). Other standard features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and an 8-way power driver’s seat.

Overall, there is little doubt the upgrades for the 2021 version of the Odyssey will enhance its appeal in the minivan segment. We look forward to experiencing it in person and discovering how the Odyssey remains so popular throughout America.
