Audi has substantially revised its popular Q5 for 2021, with updated styling and new features such as OLED lighting technology. Notably, all Q5s will come standard with LED headlights and taillights while also sporting an all-new MIB 3 infotainment system which should deliver a better user experience by working faster and providing better graphics. Most noticeable will likely be the redesigned grille, lights, wheels, and air intakes.

Notable available features include Audi virtual cockpit plus which brings a 12.3-inch HD display in place of the speedometer and a 705-watt 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an integrated toll module for paying tolls come standard on all Q5s. Q5s with leather now also get contrast stitching. On the safety front, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, parking sensors, and rear cross traffic warning come standard. Adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist and a top view camera system are optional.

Customers will have three powertrains to pick from, with the base Q5 (45 TFSI) having a 4-cylinder that now makes 261 horsepower and can go from 0-60 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds. Those looking for highly increased fuel efficiency can opt for the plug-in hybrid powertrain (Q5 55 TFSI e) that pairs a 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor to generate a combined 362 horsepower. Those looking for dedicated performance can choose the SQ5 with a V-6 producing 349 horsepower.

The updated Q5 should be a breath of fresh air into an already style-oriented premium compact SUV and the Cartrast team is interested in experiencing the updates for themselves.
