2021 Update: The Chevrolet Equinox
For the upcoming 2022 model year, Chevrolet will be releasing an updated version of the Equinox, a favorite in the competitive compact SUV segment. Scheduled to go on sale during the third quarter of 2021, the refreshed Traverse will have redesigned front and rear ends as well as standard LED headlights along with new wheel designs.
Customers looking for a sportier version of the Equinox can pick the new RS trim, which brings black badging, black 19-inch rims, grille, and side rails along with an RS shift knob and red interior stitching. The high-end Premier trim level gets LED tail lights, 19-inch wheels, a logo projection liftgate, and French stitching in the interior.
Standard safety features will include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keeping assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert, auto high beams, and a following distance indicator. An advanced adaptive cruise control, a vibrating safety alert driver’s seat, automatic parking assist, and a lane change alert system are available on higher-end trims of the Equinox.
As the Equinox is Chevrolet's best-selling SUV and General Motors’ second-best selling vehicle overall, the updated Equinox should appeal to even more compact SUV shoppers while maintaining its appeal.
