For 2019, the Range Rover Sport, a luxury performance SUV with dynamic on-road character as well as all-terrain capability, gets an available plug-in hybrid powertrain for HSE models, the P400e, capable of covering up to 31 miles in all-electric mode. The P400e combines a 2-liter 4-cylinder with an electric motor for a combined output of 398 horsepower through the four-wheel-drive system. Other available engines are a 3-liter supercharged V-6 making 340 or 380 horsepower depending on trim grade, a diesel 3-liter turbocharged V-6 making 254 horsepower, and a 5-liter V-8 that makes 518 horsepower in the Supercharged Dynamic and Autobiography models or 575 horsepower in the performance-dedicated SVR model. In addition, a new Wade Sensing system provides real-time wading depth information in relation to the maximum wading depth. Furthermore, the Sport has the option of a third-row seat for accommodating up to 7 passengers.
