Porsche’s Cayenne is designed to provide both the handling and performance of a sports car while retaining the practicality of an SUV. Buyers have four models to pick from: the standard Cayenne, more powerful Cayenne S, fuel-efficient Cayenne E-Hybrid, and top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo. The standard Cayenne has a 335-horsepower 3-liter turbocharged V-6 while the S gets a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 putting out 434 horsepower. Meanwhile, the plug-in E-Hybrid pairs the 3-liter V-6 with an electric motor to generate a combined 455 horsepower while the onboard battery gives it the ability to travel up to 27 miles in electric-only mode on a full charge. Opting for the Turbo nets a twin-turbocharged 4-liter V-8 making 541 horsepower. Novel options on the Cayenne include rear-axle steering, which creates a virtual reduction of the wheelbase at low speeds and a virtual lengthening at high speeds for improved agility and stability as well as three-chamber air suspension, which furthers the range of comfort- and performance-oriented settings.
