Minivans

Minivans have come a long way since they were first introduced to the market by Chrysler in the 1980s. With attributes such as spacious interiors (much more spacious than those in similarly-prices 7- or 8-passenger crossovers), cutting-edge safety features, good fuel economy, as well as available high-end features such as built-in vacuums and rear-seat entertainment systems, both drivers and passengers can have enjoyable experiences in vehicles that 20 years ago were seen as uncool but necessary. Get the latest information and reviews on the current crop of minivans here.

Kia Carnival

Kia’s new Carnival is the alternative minivan option, offering all the equipment of the usual stalwarts and then some gear you didn’t even know you needed. Many safety features come standard, such as forward collision-avoidance assistance, blind-spot avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, and driver attention warning. Features available on higher-end trims include ventilated front seats, a Rear Passenger View Camera, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. Perpetual back-seat passengers will appreciate the available heated and ventilated second-row VIP Lounge Seating that provides an experience similar to an airline business class.

Chrysler Pacifica/Voyager

The Chrysler Pacifica and new-for-2020 Voyager model, designed for budget-friendly family motoring, bring a high level of functionality, versatility, technology and bold styling. The Pacifica Hybrid is the first electrified minivan in the United States and achieves more than 80 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) in electric-only mode, an all-electric range of more than 30 miles and a total range of more than 500 miles. Optional family-oriented features include Uconnect Theater entertainment system with two 10-inch seatback touchscreens, Stow ‘n Vac integrated vacuum powered by RIDGID, and hands-free sliding doors and liftgate that open with the kick of a foot.

Toyota Sienna

Toyota’s popular family-friendly Sienna offers a choice of 7- or 8 seat cabin configurations and ample cargo space. There are eight different trim levels to choose from, ensuring there is a Sienna for every budget. The Sienna is the only minivan on the market with optional all-wheel drive, available on all trim levels except base L. Toyota Safety Sense P is standard on all Siennas, including a pre-collision system, radar cruise control, and lane departure alert. A nifty option is Driver Easy Speak, which gives the driver a public address system to call out passengers. Other features available on higher trim levels include a blind spot monitor, navigation, and leather seats.
